Question: I'm hoping you can ...

Question: I'm hoping you can help me find the name of a movie I saw as a child and provide me with a site or sites that can help me. The movie dealt with a small boy who befriended a girl and a sea turtle that no one else could see. He moved away and eventually returned to the coastal community he had lived in. The girl had grown up into a young woman and the sea turtle was of immense size. The turtle had a mark on its back that they had drawn. I believe this was a made-for-TV movie aired by one of the big three. This would be, say, 20 to 26 years ago. Any help would be appreciated. — John G., Syracuse, N.Y.

Televisionary: Now comes the part where I feel a little guilty about linking to someone else's work, John, but since I keep getting questions about The Bermuda Depths, and I, too, was obsessed with the movie, its star (Connie Selleca) and the theme music (Vivaldi's Largo from his Concerto in D, RV93 ) as a lad, I'll help you out. (And oddly enoug read more

Question: How long was Sonny ...

Question: How long was Sonny and Cher's show on the air and why was it canceled? Thanks. — Sue P., Ocean City, Md.

Televisionary: Well, that answer's not quite so simple since we have to talk about the pre- and post-divorce incarnations. What most people think of when they mention the hit show is The Sonny and Cher Comedy Hour, which launched on CBS in August 1971 as a summer tryout and met with enough enthusiasm to land a regular slot on the schedule.

When Salvatore and Cherilyn (n&#233e La Piere) Bono first hit the air, they'd already enjoyed success in the music field, recording such hits as "I Got You, Babe" and "The Beat Goes On." But that was the mid-'60s, and in between read more

Question: Sometime in ...

Question: Sometime in September there was a program on either the Food Network, Discovery, or The History Channel featuring the lavish and sumptuous menus of King Henry VIII, his dining habits and cooking staff. Frequently the features on these channels are aired more than once. I would be most interested in the title of that program and if or when it may air again. If not, is it available on video? I've exhausted my search and would appreciate your help. Thank you. — Julia, Oakland, Cal.

Televisionary: Sorry to say, Julia, that the The Food Network has no immediate plans to rerun its Eat Like a King special or make it available on home video. However, a network spokesperson tells me they could always decide to air it again sometime next year. In the meantime, you can read a little more about it on the network's site, And if you're into other Food Network fare, episodes o read more

Question: What was the theme ...

Question: What was the theme song to the show Joanie loves Chachi, and where can I find it? — Brenda H., Batavia, N.Y.

Televisionary: The theme song to the Happy Days spin-off, which ran from March 1982 to September 1983 on ABC, was called "You Look at Me." Written by Pamela Phillips and James P. Dunne, it was sung by stars Erin Moran and Scott Baio. As far as I know, it's not available for purchase anywhere, but, as always, if someone wants to correct me, I'm game.

Question: I was wondering if the actress that plays A.J.'s new girlfriend on The Sopranos also plays the role of Alison on As The World Turns? If not, they look very similar to each other. — Melissa F., San Diego, Cal.

Televisionary: That she does. Devin Pillsbury, A.J.'s new flame on HBO's mob drama, is played by Jessica Dunphy, who also pulls down a check playing ATWT's conniving Alison Stewart for CBS. You may also have spotted her doing guest work on ABC's All My Children.

Harry Potter Star Faces the Dark Side

While Star Wars fans view the Dark Side as a bad place, Daniel Radcliffe — the title wizard in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets— really digs plumbing the murky depths of his character. "I think everybody has a dark side really," the 13-year-old says. "However much you either like to show it or you're afraid to show it, everybody has it."

Those expecting a light, fluffy movie should beware: Chamber of Secrets — opening Friday — is much darker in tone than Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone. Harry has a vicious magical duel with rival Draco Malfoy (Tom Felton) and also faces an identity crisis over his mysterious similarities to the evil Lord Voldemort.

"I think it was great to be able to show Harry's dark side," Radcliffe notes. "To show that he's not flawless and that he's not a perfect person."

He adds that this spookier subject matter is no excuse to keep young Potter fans fr read more

Reunion for Red-Hot Blue Duo?

Business is about to pick up at ABC Standards and Practices. Word has it that NYPD Blue's flesh-baring sweethearts Baldwin (Henry Simmons) and Valerie (Garcelle Beauvais-Nilon) — who split up last season — may soon rekindle their passionate affair. And that can only mean one thing: More sizzling shower scenes!

"I have a feeling we're going to get together again," Simmons tells TV Guide Online. "That's what we both want. Our favorite scenes on the entire show are when we work together, because we play off each other well, we know each other very well, and, when the characters are together, the [writers] bring us to another level. It's not just cop work, there's a depth to it. They take a different kind of route."

Still, with these two, all paths inevitably lead right back to the bedroom — especially if it's a sweeps month. A reunion seems even more likely now that one major road block h read more
