SOMETHING TO CROW ABOUT

David Boreanaz — whose bloody brilliant WB drama Angel has yet to be picked up for a fifth season — has signed on to play the lead bad guy in the fourth installment of the Crow film series, titled Wicked Prayer. "I didn't even know there was a third [Crow movie]," Boreanaz laughs. (Don't feel bad. I didn't either.) Dennis Hopper and Eddie Furlong co-star in pic, which starts shooting in June. read more

SAVE THE DATE

The Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences made it official on Monday and scheduled the 2004 Oscars for Feb. 29 — a month earlier than usual. On the plus side, the move will shorten the movie award season and possibly limit aggressive campaigning. On the downside, smaller films that bow in December will have a harder time getting the attention of voters. read more

But according to the singer's manager, the procedure did not damage his vocal chords. Vandross remains in critical but stable condition at Weill-Cornell Medical College in New York. Third Watch Mystery: Why Did Alex Die?

Chances are, if you watched last night's Third Watch season finale, the image of Alex Taylor's severed body lying on the pavement remains etched in your psyche. Although NBC's promo department for weeks had been warning us that "someone won't be back," nothing could have prepared viewers for the grisly nature of Alex's death. For those who missed it, here's the sitch: While filling in as paramedic at the scene of a car crash, the trailblazing firefighter was sliced in two by a sudden explosion. (For added impact, Alex's legs hit the ground seconds after her torso. Yeesh.) Fortunately, the character's portrayer, actress Amy Carlson, remains wholly composed in the wake of the tragedy. In this exclusive interview, the former soap star gives TV Guide Online readers the lowdown on Alex's haunting death, including why she had to go and which Third Watcher could be next.

Cancun Ladies' Man Has No Regrets

Arizona State alum Jeremy Jazwinski is a spring break veteran, so when he headed south for The Real Cancun, he had a well thought out game plan: Girls, girls, girls. Naturally, the producers jumped at the chance to document the aftermath of his one-night stand with castmate Laura Ramsey, not to mention the brutal "guy talk" that came streaming out of his mouth. Since then, the 22-year-old bartender has taken to shouting "I'm not the bad guy!" at random intervals, but he tells TV Guide Online he'd do it all again...

TV Guide Online: Do you have any regrets about things you did in Cancun?
Jeremy Jazwinski:
I don't regret hooking up with girls on film. If no one ever had sex the whole time we were there, that wouldn't be a true portrayal of Cancun. I went there last year with my buddies, and what did they do? They tried to get l--- every night. I more regret the things I said, not so much the sex.
