24 Trailer Premieres in Times Square
Not even the rain could keep the Jack Bauer faithful away from the world-premiere
trailer for the new season of
24 in Times Square on Thursday.
An estimated 200 people congregated around the giant Panasonic screen to watch scenes from the much-anticipated two-hour Season 7 premiere that will air on Sunday, Jan. 13, at 8 pm/ET. Fox promotion winners from around the country were flown in from as far as Phoenix to attend the screening and get a chance to meet actress
Mary Lynn Rajskub.
"Luckily I saw the trailer yesterday because I couldn't really focus on it with all these people," Rajskub told TVGuide.com. "It was very exciting, I'm glad people turned out."
The trailer opens with a new setting of Washington, D.C., and Bauer (
Kiefer Sutherland) on trial for his interrogation methods in his past six action-packed days. However, sticking to the spirit of
24, things start going wrong very quickly when ex-colleague Tony Almeida (
Carlos Bernard) returns as Jack's new nemesis.
"I was pretty shocked that they brought [Bernard] back," Rajskub said. "It's more about the shocking people that are living rather than the shocking deaths this year."
There are also some shocking developments with Rajskub's character, Chloe O'Brian.
"I show up, time has passed and I have a 1-year-old and a wedding ring, [and I'm] calling Morris (
Carlo Rota) while I'm busy," Rajskub said. "So far he's taking care of the baby, but he'll be around."
