In 1877, the Cheyenne are persuaded to withdraw peacefully from their Wyoming hunting grounds to make way for white settlers. Army colonel Lund is put in charge of the resettlement. He is helped by surveyor Wagner, whose friendship with young Indian stalwarts Hunter and O'Brian is of great assistance.
