Washington Square: Review

This faithful, nuanced adaptation of Henry James's classic novel is not as dramatically compelling as William Wyler's earlier big-screen rendition of the tale, The Heiress. It is, however, potent stuff with an interesting feminist spin, thanks to the sensitive direction of Agnieszka Holland and strong performances by Jennifer Jason Leigh and Albert Finney.
