Gutierrez yearns to escape his father's chicken farm and travel to the US where he hopes to become a radio announcer. Spinning records at a local store, Gutierrez falls for Agudelo, the lovely daughter of a wealthy family. Her parents are determined to end the romance by sending Agudelo to

the US to live, forcing Gutierrez to pursue illegal means for entering the country. Lisandro Duque has a fine light touch and tells his story of young love and early disillusionment with a tenderness devoid of sentimentality. The delicacy of the feelings between the lovers pursued in the full rush

of their innocence gives a power and rare believability to the portrayal of young adults. Despite some technical difficulties, this is a satisfying movie, well acted and storied, and winner of the Best Film award at the Cartagena Film Festival.
