Believe it or not, this is a rather tame, family-oriented spaghetti western that is fun, intelligent, and well produced. It is a sequel to SEVEN GUNS FOR THE MACGREGORS, which was released in the US after UP THE MACGREGORS. The film involves two families of immigrants who have settled in

Texas during the 1880s, the MacGregors from Scotland and the Donovans from Ireland. A friendly rivalry exists between the clans, but their relationship is warm because the six MacGregor boys are engaged to marry the six Donovan girls. During the celebration of Bailey's engagement to Flori, a gang

of bandits led by Anchoriz invades the homestead and rides off with the trunk that holds all of the MacGregors' wealth. The MacGregor boys go off after the bandits and eventually track them down at their hideout. Fearing that Bailey will be seduced by the bandits' vixen women, Flori goes after him

and is captured by the crooks. Bailey comes to her rescue, but he, too, is captured, forcing his brothers, the Donovans, and some friendly Indians to attack the bandits and drive them off. Good humor, little violence, and a typically fine score from Morricone.
