The Unidentified Flying Oddball
[1979, Movie, G, 93 mins]
The Unidentified Flying Oddball: Review
Dugan is a NASA brain who, along with his robot double, gets sent into the past, landing in medieval England. He soon finds himself at the mercy of Merlin the Magician (Moody), in a plot derived from Twain's classic
A Connecticut Yankee in King Arthur's Court
. However, Dugan is saved by the charm he lays on the Englishmen. The film is pleasantly humorous, though the jokes are aimed at those interested in history. The Twain novel was first filmed in 1921 and subsequently made as A CONNECTICUT YANKEE (1931) and as A CONNECTICUT YANKEE IN KING ARTHUR'S COURT (1949).
