A cute comedy that appeals to family tastes. Hovey is lonely in the boarding school, a school he was put in by his widowed mother, advertising executive Day. But Hovey brags to his classmates about the exploits of his imagined father, who, he tells everyone, is still alive. Chandler, a

high-powered fellow executive of Day's agency, is sent out to find and recruit a wayward artist who now works for the school in upstate New York. Hovey gets Chandler to assume the role of his father to save his pride with his school buddies. At the same time, Chandler runs into Day and the romance

begins, with Chandler totally unaware at first that she is the boy's mother. Everything ends up predictably and everyone goes home happy as scene-stealing Hovey gets a new father. The film is a version of the 1938 movie MAD ABOUT MUSIC that starred Deanna Durbin in the cute moppet role.
