Warner is the British consul for an unnamed South American country governed by Beery, its childish, naive president. Revolution breaks out and Warner's daughter, Terry, is kidnaped. Leave it to Douglas, a heroic Navy man, to save the day. This is a well-acted programmer with plenty of

action, not all of it that exciting. It certainly was released at an opportune moment for the British Royal Navy, whose future financial support was hinging on a proposed tax hike. This film slyly shows how the common man helps support the Navy's efforts to protect the British Empire around the

world, a handy bit of propaganda. The British Navy's first onscreen launching took place in the film BORN TO GLORY (1935).
