A few hot cars and some bared breasts are the so-called attractions of this dismal teen-oriented story of an independent woman. Tommy Boyd (Betsy Russell) is a tough-minded young lady and a top-notch garage mechanic working in East Los Angeles, where she indulges in such unfeminine

activities as motorcycle riding and playing basketball with local street kids. This being an exploitation film, Tommy needs a reason to show off her body, and she does so in her love scenes with Randy Starr (Jerry Dinome), a pretty-boy race-car driver. Eventually, Randy tires of Tommy's tomboy

exterior and faces off with her in a racing challenge. Of course, she wins handily and gets a sponsor for the Daytona 500. Yeah, right. The plot and characterizations, as expected, are as ludicrous as the main character's name--Tom(my) Boy(d). Russell is likable considering the inane nature of the

film, but Dinome, a former model making his feature debut, is all teeth and moussed hair.
