A typical British comedy of manners, TILLIE OF BLOOMSBURY stars Bird as a rich boy who falls in love with the daughter of a boarding-house keeper. Once exposed to the lifestyle of the "other half," Bird learns that they're not so bad and decides to take his girl down to the family country

house for the weekend. This, of course, sends Bird's mother, Jeffreys, into a predictable tailspin, but in the end, true love triumphs. This was the second film version of Ian Hay's play; it was preceded by a version done in 1921 and followed by one released in 1940.
