of a series of four B-westerns with Saylor as comic sidekick to hero Steele. These four pictures were his last as a star. After 119 leading roles, he moved to supporting parts. (For his last starring appearance, Steele sported a mustache, an unheard-of thing for a cowboy hero, such hirsuteness

being connected to villainy in the B-westerns. He grew it for his upcoming role in THE BIG SLEEP that same year.)
