When Lowe returns from Peru with a large sum of money, he's anxious to find a wife and settle down. He's about to buy a house but accompanies the real estate agent home for dinner and discovers what married life is really like. Nevertheless, he still wants a wife for his new home and comes

up with an arrangement with the agent's sister-in-law, Bennett. They agree to a 1929 version of an open marriage, with Bennett merely managing the house but not sleeping with Lowe, and each partner being free to see whomever they please. Of course, they eventually fall in love with each other,

though neither will admit it. Both go to elaborate extremes to make the other jealous. In the end they agree to try a real marriage. This early comedy is predictable, telegraphing its jokes ahead of time and holding nothing in the way of surprises. Blonde bombshell Jean Harlow is seen in a very

early bit role. Originally, the film contained a three-minute color sequence.
