business-minded boss, Backus, to sell him a totally worthless stock. As it turns out, the stock is actually worth tons when oil is discovered on property belonging to the company. Garner actually turns out to be a millionaire once the deal is completed and promptly asks for the hand of Remick.

Both script and direction are aimed at keeping the pace moving swiftly, much in accordance with the practices of Wall Street and greater New York in general. Garner is the only character to show any depth, though all perform with comic intention.
