He's supposed to grab some shots of a dog on roller skates, and the huge mutt won't cooperate. He and Abby click over the phone, but when he calls back for a date, she recruits willowy pea-brain Noelle (Uma Thurman) to stand in for her rather dumpy self. The ensuing romantic complications are

adorable enough to warrant all the trouble.
