the town off from the rest of the world. Cobb is all set to leave soon via an airplane that is supposed to land near the town. Widmark goes along with Cobb until Reid, Widmark's father, is murdered by Cobb's gang. Then Widmark sets out to jail Cobb. He looks to his drunk brother Holliman to help,

but Holliman has no backbone, just a gorgeous wife, Louise, who used to be Widmark's flame. And those two have the sparks flying again. Of course, Widmark gets his man, and his woman.
