The sequel to Troma Pictures' most successful film to date is, like the original TOXIC AVENGER, a bizarre mixture of Mad magazine-style humor and FRIDAY THE 13TH gore involving a superhero who drinks Drano for lunch and runs around in a shredded pink tutu. This is no ordinary good guy,

nor is this an ordinary film. On occasion this strange mix of ingredients works, but, as with the first installment, TOXIC AVENGER, PART II eventually runs out of ideas and surprises, despite its ambition and good intentions. Ron Fazio plays Melvin, who, at the beginning of the first film, was

pushed into a barrel of toxic waste by a bunch of high-school bullies and transformed into the Toxic Avenger. In this film, the evil chairman of Apocalypse Inc. (Rick Collins) decides that Tromaville is the perfect place to dump his company's toxic waste. First, however, the Toxic Avenger must be

dealt with, which the chairman attempts to do by luring the Avenger to Japan with a letter that appears to have been written by his father. Off goes Toxie to Japan, only to find out that his father is not there; returning to Tromaville, he finds the town torn apart by greed, and, PO'd, he kicks

some serious corporate butt.
