An uninspired science-fiction tale that somehow won top honors (the Golden Asteroid) at Trieste's Sci-Fi Fest. The film, based on a story by Stanislaw Lem, Poland's top sci-fi author, tells a typical tale of robots who look like humans. These robots along with real humans travel together

into space on a mission organized by an electronics company. The robots are given more responsibilities than the humans, who are cursed with nasty vices such as emotions and irrational actions and choices. The crew's captain is pitted against a robot whom he ultimately destroys in a battle of

decision-making. Lame art direction and sets don't help matters.
