Dickinson is a nurse in the African Congo who works hard to win the trust of the locals. Finch, in a part similar to his role in A NUN'S STORY (1959), is the Belgian administrator who tries to seduce the nurse during a native fertility dance. She rejects him and falls in love with Moore,

a handsome RAF pilot who crashes in the area. An American volunteer for the RAF, Moore is equally smitten with Dickinson. The time comes for him to go, but not before the two consummate their love. Moore leaves and Dickinson discovers that she's pregnant. She tells Finch, who telegraphs Moore in

Boston. Moore leaves his thriving medical practice and offers to take Dickinson home with him, but she realizes that this offer is more out of duty than love. After Finch has requested to be sent to the battlefield, Dickinson realizes that he really is the man for her. This soap opera features

some good dialog and lush photography. Dickinson is adequate as the Christian woman forced to make some heavy decisions about her faith. Watch for Olympic decathlon winner Rafer Johnson in a minor role.
