Novarro, once-popular romantic lead of silent films (BEN HUR was his most famous leading role), tried his hand unsuccessfully in this talkie where he plays an Arab sheik. Lane is a spoiled rich American, whose father made his millions selling corkscrews. She wagers her English fiance

that she can find a horse faster than any in his stable and goes off to Arabia with her insipid father, comical aunt, and bratty cousin. There the uncouth Americans mistake Novarro, a sheik who breeds some of the fastest horses in the world, for a baggage porter and travel guide. He decides to

teach the ill-mannered Yanks a lesson by staging a fake kidnaping of Lane and then abandoning her in the desert. His final joke on her fiance is when he snatches her from the altar during their wedding ceremony and takes her for his own bride.
