Gambler Curtis is wrongly accused of a murder and takes to hiding. After three years of keeping a low profile, he comes back to clear his name as well as make his claim for Miller, the girl he left behind. Miller has since taken up with Van Eyck, a gambler and head of the gang actually

responsible for the killing of which Curtis is accused. With aid from happy-go-lucky Kennedy, Curtis takes care of the gang, winning Miller back in the interim. A good cast, especially Kennedy in a role that was to become his trademark during the 1950s, and fast-paced direction help to gloss over

the inconsistencies in the plot. Miller sings "Give Me Your Love," "Happy Go Lucky" (Frederick Herbert, Arnold Hughes), and "The Gypsy with the Fire in His Shoes" (Peggy Lee, Laurindo Almeida).
