Stanwyck is the mail order bride of North Dakota farmer Brent. She was formerly a torch singer (crooning the prophetic song "Take Me Away" early in the film) before becoming sick of the city. Talbot is her bootlegging boy friend who sets her up with Brent. Though they get off to a rocky

start, Stanwyck soon comes to love the simple farmer and marries him. She quickly finds life on the farm can be as tough as life in the city, but she is determined to stay by her man. Both Brent and Stanwyck, who had worked well together in NIGHT NURSE and SO BIG, are miscast in these roles. With

a plot laden with heavy drama, this film often surprisingly goes for slapstick laughs. One redeeming quality here is the fine photography.
