Technology gone wrong is the theme of this science-fiction film starring Halliday as the inventor of a machine that relays matter, much in the manner of the earlier film THE FLY. Halliday's initial experiments fail after the pig he has sent through the machine turns up electrically

charged. After a few minor adjustments, he is ready to show his experiments to his boss and fellow scientists. But the experiment fails again, due to tamperings by Wooland at the insistence of an outside party. Frustrated and afraid of having his project dismantled, Halliday sends himself through

the machine but comes out as a disfigured monster with an electrical charge. He seeks vengeance on those who have wronged him, only to regain his wits and realize what he has done. He then destroys the machine and himself along with it. Characters are better portrayed than usual in films of this

nature, keeping the actors from becoming mere stereotypes. Subtle artistic direction and first-quality special effects give this picture a strong visual presence.
