A great Irish-situated comedy starring Raymond as a stranger who arrives in a remote tavern and announces that he has murdered his nasty father by smacking him on the skull with one blow from a shovel. Impressed, the villagers turn Raymond into a hero, and he is worshipped by all,

including the innkeeper's daughter, McKenna. Raymond's reign as king of the town is brief, however, as his father, McGinnis, shows up very much alive, albeit with a bandage wrapped around his head. Shocked, the villagers shun Raymond, and McKenna refuses to see him. Desperate to regain his status,

Raymond once again hits his father over the head with a shovel and presumably kills him. Horrified at witnessing an actual murder, the villagers form a lynch mob and try to hang Raymond. Luckily McGinnis once again recovers from his wounds, reclaims his son, and they return home. A powerful

insightful, and witty examination of hero worship and the mentality of a mob adapted from a play by Ireland's greatest playwright.
