Adapted from a best-selling novel about flaming youth, this collegiate comedy features Clara Bow as coed Cynthia Day. High school track star Hugh Carver (Donald Keith) enters Prescott College, his father's alma mater, full of plans to study hard and excel in sports. But that's only until

he meets Hurricane Cynthia, who's dating his new roommate Carl (Gilbert Roland). Cynthia drops her beau in favor of the shy, polite Hugh, but her wild ways quickly take their toll on his grades and his athletic discipline. Still, under all her flapper shennanigans and devil-may-care gaiety,

Cynthia's not a bad girl. So will she let Hugh ruin his college career for her, or will she sacrifice herself for his future? This light drama shows Bow at her best: She's vivacious without being manic, sexy, fresh faced and just adorable in her coed wardrobe. The plot is pretty standard college

comedy stuff (even in the '20s critics were remarking on the conspicuous absence of faculty at Prescott College), and the naughty hijinks - dancing in girls' rooms, going to road houses to drink, and making out all over campus -- are pretty tame by today's standards. But this picture holds up

nicely, largely because of Bow's charming performance. Latin lover Gilbert Roland makes an atypical early appearance as an all-American college boy.
