This film is based on the events that took place after the Liberation Front of Quebec took hostages in 1970. Documentary filmmaker Brault uses his skills to bring a realistic feel to the story. The government called for martial law, and 450 people were arrested for no reason and without

warrants. Most of the film deals with the cruel and inhuman way these people were treated in prison. The police would break into houses and drag people to jail and then subject them to mental torture. A strong film that shows how dangerous and out-of-control a police state can become.
