well and there's some good photography, though this still is nothing more than a good Saturday afternoon western. Dumbrille was normally a bad guy but got to wear the white hat for this film when George Bancroft walked off the set in a salary dispute. Toler, best known for his work in the CHARLIE

CHAN series, here plays an unusual role as the comic cook-sidekick. Actress Field played the ingenue well in a couple of Paramount westerns--PRIDE OF THE WEST was another--and then dropped out of the business forever.
