In a dual role Longden plays a soldier who shoulders blame after his revolutionary brother kills a fellow soldier during a workers' strike. Things look bad for him, but finally the brother turns himself in and faces a firing squad for his crime. Originally this film had been a silent

feature, but sound was added in 1930 to take advantage of the new technology. It did not help any, for the film is melodramatic pulp without any honest emotions. Still, THE LAST POST remains something of a historical oddity because it's one of the few films of the time to be written and directed

by women.
