Ferrer plays a concert pianist whose hands are ruined in a plane crash. Wolfit, a surgeon famous for his bone-grafting operations, attaches the hands of a condemned murderer to Ferrer. The pianist soon becomes obsessed with his murderer's hands and believes they are capable only of

destruction. In Marseilles, he meets Lee, a seedy magician who overhears Ferrer's worries that he may have murdered someone. Lee and his reluctant assistant, Carrel, blackmail Ferrer. Ferrer returns to London, his obsession reaching the breaking point, and attempts to strangle his wife. Before he

can finish her off, the cops arrive to tell the pianist that they have discovered that the condemned man was actually innocent, and his hands are not those of a murderer. Finally snapping out of his insanity, Ferrer helps the cops track down Lee, who has killed Carrel to keep her mouth shut.

Filmed simultaneously in French and English. A superior version of this story was made in 1935 as MAD LOVE starring Peter Lorre.
