Disgusted with a stupid officer's command to massacre the Indians of Sand Creek, Murphy rebels and heads home to Texas. He knows the Indians will want revenge and the women left behind will need protection. His fellow Texans think he's a traitor, but Murphy pays them no heed as he molds

the women into a crack fire unit, using an old mission as a base (hence the title). There's one wiseacre in the group, Grant, and she and Murphy fall for each other. In the end Murphy and his ladies defeat the Indians, and Murphy is found not guilty in a court-martial hearing. His C.O., however,

is charged for the massacre. A neat twist with its female brigade. This film was Murphy's first independent production, although uncredited.
