Arthur runs away from his parents' poor southern farm to Texas where he gets involved with outlaws. One outlaw (who would like to go straight) sends Arthur back home, where he works hard and turns the farm into a success. Just as the harvest celebration is about to take place, the outlaw

gang shows up and forces Arthur to help them rob the local bank. Rather than help, Arthur kills the leader and his brother, but not before the powerful banker of the community learns of the boy's past criminal activities in Texas. Seeing that Arthur is now a productive member of society, the

banker forgives Arthur's past, allowing him to keep the farm and marry his sweetheart, Nolan. This is slow going, with no engaging performances to help it along.
