Financially pressed, Anna (Esmee de la Bretoniere) persuades her husband Alfred (Fedja Van Huet) and his best mate Guy (Freddy Douglas) to deliver a fortune in Ecstasy pills for her old buddy Spike (Rik Laurspatch). To ensure that the drugs make the journey from Amsterdam to Spain sans delays, Spike holds Anna for collateral. Immediately, the trip hits a snag when Alfred and Guy's car nearly crashes into a Volvo that's been forced off the road. If they aid Loulou (Aurelie Meriel) and her critically injured companion, the couriers will jeopardize Anna's life. A former foot soldier in the AAU (Agency Against European Unification), Loulou quit the organization after her boss Marc (Jonathan Harvey) began specializing in political assassinations. Mistaking Alfred and Guy for AAU loyalists, Interpol gets in line behind Marc to track down the pharmaceutical messengers. Clambering to keep on schedule, Alfred and Guy don't anticipate Loulou's stepmother Francoise (Ingrid De Vos) absconding with their shipment. How will Spike react when Francoise tries to sell him his own misplaced merchandise? Will the authorities be able to separate small fry Alfred and Guy from the big fish they want to catch? Dispensing enough plot twists for at least four criminal enterprise films, this international production creates an atmosphere of feverish expectations, building to an outlandish crescendo. Snaking through that recognizable crime-doesn't-pay highway, this sly opus repaves that worn roadway with snappy performances and a pulsating contempo-rock score. At the climax, the script's disparate elements don't exactly coalesce, but they do bump up against each other in a volatile way that keeps viewers wondering about the next assault on their nerves.
