Uninspired comedy starring Hay as a correspondence course teacher who becomes embroiled in a Nazi plot to destroy an economic trade agreement between Britain and South America. Hay discovers that the Germans have substituted a phony economics expert (who will give bad advice to the

countries, ruining the pact) and have held the real professor captive. He dons a variety of disguises while trying to find the real expert, who has been stashed by the Nazis in a nursing home. The only genuinely funny segment has Hay hiring a band to play every national anthem of the pact-signing

countries under the window of the meeting hall to delay the signing of the bogus document. The humor is staged in a second-rate, silent slapstick style that tries to emulate the best of Chaplin, but Hay is not nearly as talented a performer as the little tramp.
