The first of a crop of Filipino horror films which soon began to pop up like weeds. Lederer (who had played in such films as Pabst's PANDORA'S BOX in 1929 and Renoir's DIARY OF A CHAMBERMAID in 1946) is cast as a mad scientist who resides on Blood Island and carries out experiments with

the goal of transforming a panther into a man. When a shipwrecked sailor (Derr) washes up on shore, Lederer's wife (Thyssen) falls in love with him. The humanoid panther carries Thyssen off, and when Lederer pursues them, the creature kills him and is himself killed. (Or is he?) Derr and Thyssen

begin a new life together. This is a loose remake of the classic THE ISLAND OF LOST SOULS.
