A fast-moving Russian musical comedy which stars Tselikovskaya as a young lovely who is the center of attraction for both opera singer Spiegel and courageous pilot Zharov. The latter, though not accepted for military service, performs heroic feats with his transport airplane, including

downing an enemy aircraft. Ironically, writer Petrov was killed in an airplane crash shortly after completing the screenplay of this, his final film. Director Rappaport made many light musical comedies both before and after WW II. He was also capable of serious drama, having co-directed PROFESSOR

MAMLOCK in 1938; he received his training from G.W. Pabst, for whom he served as assistant on the classic KAMERADSCHAFT in 1931. Producer Ermler was a talented director in his own right. (In Russian; English subtitles.)
