Two warring tribes in 6th-century France have a temporary truce when Palance, king of Lombard, agrees to keep from attacking the Gepidae if Rossi-Drago, daughter of the Gepidaen king, marries him. She refuses on the grounds that she is already betrothed to Madison; in fact, she already

has a child by him, but this is kept secret. When Madison is put in jail, Rossi-Drago agrees to marry Palance, but a couple instances of backstabbing never allow this wedding to take place. Instead a bloody battle occurs, with Madison the hero when he brings additional forces to give the Gepidaens

a victory. Although the settings are convincing and the mounting and photography are all first-class, the characters portrayed and the subsequent dialog dubbed into English border on the totally ridiculous.
