Bud Doyle (Eddie Quillan) is a jockey unfairly barred from racing and left with no other choice but to become a singing waiter in Tijuana. He manages to get himself back in the saddle again, however, winning the climactic race. His horse always gives an extra burst of speed when Doyle

hollers, "Whoop-tee-do!" so Bud does this often and loudly. This is a silly little programmer, though Quillan handles his comedy role in a good fashion. As horse-race pictures go, SWEEPSTAKES has some relatively realistic race footage.
