The two great Olympic swimming stars-turned-movie-heroes meet on the silver screen and prove the pool isn't the only place where they can share a rivalry. Weissmuller is a war-shocked Navy veteran who now runs a boat at the mouth of the Mississippi River. He's got a little romance going

with Thurston but is challenged for her love by nasty trapper Crabbe. The two fight it out both on land and in the alligator-filled swamp until good inevitably triumphs over evil. Ineptly made with an undersized performance by Weissmuller, this routine story saves itself by throwing in action at

every possible moment. Aside from his "Tarzan" films and the "Jungle Jim" series, this was Weissmuller's only leading role. Watch for an early screen appearance by Janssen.
