When you've got that certain smutty magic, you can seduce viewers into abandoning their artistic reservations, and though more alluringly paired in LOVEBLIND, Bobby Johnston and Catalina Larranaga are two of the juiciest assets of '90s soft-core filmmaking. A slave to her sexual research, social anthropologist Lauren (Kira Reed) plans to outdo the Kinsey Report. Her report deals with first-hand accounts of sightings of Eros, the god of love (or perhaps lust). Does Eros visit Earth to encourage dirty doings? After breaking up with a beau, Lauren jumps the bones of a sympathetic cabbie and, lo and behold, spots Eros at the scene of her passion. She goes on to interview movie makeup artist Oz (Catalina Larranaga), who's dating an LA club-owner with a sideline in coke dealing but spots Eros after a reunion with her small town sweetheart. Oz's client Natalie (Kim Dawson) dumps her married stud, Steve (Bobby Johnston), only to sense Eros when she makes out with baby-faced co-star Eric (Johnny D'Angelo). The spurned Steve gets the rebound hots for his neglected wife, but Eros shows her the light, and she throws him over for a lesbian. Eros touches them all, and they go on to touch others. An inferior rip-off of Zalman King's RED SHOES DIARIES franchise, this rude rondelay's gauzily photographed scenes of copulation offers many opportunities to gaze upon fabulous flesh, but isn't especially arousing. The overall effect is like leafing through a book of tasteful nudes. Can a TV series called "Touched by a Horny Angel" be far behind?
