You have to be in the right mood to appreciate this bargain-basement picture that is long on wackiness and short on money. An earthquake has devastated California, and Adolf (Barry Brenner) is the leader of the local neo-Nazis. They live in a bunker on the beach, ride surfboards equipped

with sophisticated weaponry, and sport Hell's Angels-type tattoos. The beach is up for grabs, and various gangs want control of the sandy turf. When young Robert Harden gets killed by the Nazis, his rotund, cigar-chomping mama (Gail Neely) determines to wreak havoc and exact revenge. Lots of

laughs; some fine darts tossed at fascism, southern California customs, and the USA in general; a tongue firmly embedded in the cheek; and a fairly good score all add up to make this a sleeper. The language, mayhem, and several tasteless moments make this unworthy viewing for children. But if your

sense of humor has the slightest warp in it, you may thoroughly enjoy SURF NAZIS MUST DIE.
