after he's caught necking with Pleshette. When the soldier's buddies decide to rescue him, Ewell calls out the militia. The film ends with Ewell losing not only the fight but his high position in town, which is a relief to the locals. SUPPOSE THEY GAVE A WAR AND NOBODY CAME? suffers from

indecisive scripting and direction. At times the film plays as farce; at other moments it comes off as serious drama. The acting is never convincing, with a myriad of styles that add to the confusion.
