Stronghold: Review

A thin story line and an overly talky script hinder the drama in this film about the Mexican revolution. After Lake and her mother leave the US to visit the silver mines they own in Mexico, they are kidnaped by a band of thieves led by aristocrat de Cordova. Though Lake initially tries to protect her silver interests, she falls in love with de Cordova and begins to sympathize with his efforts to fight for the Mexican peasants' cause. Mine overseer Scott, in an attempt to stop de Cordova, blows up a dam, which floods the mines and forces the revolutionaries to surface. De Cordova is set to be executed, but the peasants come to his rescue.
