A variation on the standard horror plot involving a group of people, connected only by their prior association with a dead man, who are brought together to one house under mysterious circumstances. Hamilton has gathered together the 12 members of the group to prove that they had wrongly

convicted a man of murder months ago when they served on the same jury. The complex, and sometimes confusing, plot contains more murders, more confessions, and even more startling revelations until it is discovered that the original victim the condemned man was supposed to have murdered a year ago

is still alive. The film makes good use of some settings and props made famous by a couple of classic horror films from Universal Studios. The haunted house from James Whale's THE OLD DARK HOUSE served as the mystery house in STRANGE PEOPLE, while the graveyard set and the crooked staircases and

cellar of the mansion in FRANKENSTEIN were also used for key scenes.
