Durbin goes from a lowly hatcheck girl to the fiancee of a multimillionaire in the flash of an eye when called upon to act as a substitute for the bride-to-be of Cummings. Cummings' pop (Laughton) hasn't much time left to live, and his last desire is to meet the girl his son has just brought back from Mexico and is about to marry.
