year. This was a comeback film for the bulb-nosed Duncan (whose acne rosacea rivaled that of W.C. Fields); his last picture had been a silent, THE HAUNTED SHIP (1927). Perfect for the part on the basis of physical appearance alone, the short comedian had worked in vaudeville and films for years

with lumbering Lloyd Hamilton; the duo was billed as "Ham and Bud." Kennedy, the master of the slow burn, makes a fine foil for Duncan.
