bewigged madam who runs a stable of Tinsletown studs out of her Galaxie 500 convertible. Harry's particular specialty is sadistic dominance -- severe beatings for naughty boys -- and has no qualms about dropping trou for an "artistic" photographer. It's all really just another form of acting,

Harry reasons, but he draws the line at casting couch ("I'm an actor, not a whore!") and as a result isn't finding much work in the fleshpots of Hollywood. Harry thinks he's keeping it all together and is a relatively happy hustler, until Ghislaine asks him to show a fresh young thing named Dean

(Alan Boyce) the, er, ropes. It's really not as awful as it sounds: The cast, particularly Boyce, is really quite competent, and Everett Lewis directs with a certain icy style, his overfondness for seizure-inducing stroboscopic dissolves not withstanding. But at two hours the film is at least a

half hour too long -- the many sex scenes drag on -- and despite its vague moralizing, it doesn't really offer much to justify its existence beyond the obvious titillation.
