When globetrotting newsman Tearle is killed with three bullets, Albright, Thomas, and Baxter are all accused of murder. Each confesses and each is sentenced to the electric chair. Gottschalk, a professor, brings in a lie detector of his own devising that eventually gets two men a pardon

and one the death penalty. Though based on a popular novel, this production suffers from inept direction and some ridiculous performances. The script has some interesting twists, but these are tempered by the other dull production values.
