A compelling look at a pair of San Francisco cab drivers, Ackridge and Leegant, and their reactions to the goings-on around them. Largely improvised by these two exceptional actors, SIGNAL 7 moves briskly through the conversations of the cabbies as they talk about union disputes, the

murder of a fellow worker, and their aspirations of becoming actors. Dedicated, predictably, to John Cassavetes, SIGNAL 7 was shot on videotape then transferred to film on a budget of less than $1 million. The result is a lively character study that will please anyone who likes improvisation.
