The ads claimed, "A Frenzied Hunt for a Hideous Beast Uncovers an Evil Cannibal Cult and Death Is the Devil's Blessing." That pretty much sums it up. This is one of the all-time worst, but the unintentional laughs may make it worth a look for those who can stomach inept filmmaking. Brock

is a college professor who takes four of his students on an expedition to Boot Island to search for the Abominable Snowman. There they meet with Brock's associate, Ellis, and his native servant, Jacobs, a dangerous-looking mute. Together, the small group begins exploring the island, and soon two

of the students are ripped to pieces by a large, white beast who blow-dries its bushy mane. This leaves only two students remaining, and they begin to suspect things on this island aren't quite what they seem. One of them, Stock, is cornered in the bathroom by two of the fuzzy brutes and scared to

death. Her boy friend, Harris, who was conveniently knocked out in the woods, comes to in time to witness the two professors and Jacobs cannibalizing one of the corpses, with their fuzzy white costumes hanging in a nearby closet. Harris takes off and finds a cop, but when they arrive on the scene

it is revealed that the cop is a member of this cannibal cult as well. Wretched stuff--the credits read like a Who's Who of bad cinema. Lead actor Brock was a bit player in the 1930s who gave up the screen to become an agent, his cohort Ellis starred in CAT WOMEN OF THE MOON (1954),

writer-producer Ed Adlum (a former rock critic for Creem magazine) was also responsible for the equally vile INVASION OF THE BLOOD FARMERS, and director Michael Findlay also made the bogus snuff film SNUFF (1976). Findlay, who along with his wife, Roberta, directed several porno and exploitation

features, was killed in a gruesome accident atop the Pan Am building in New York when he was decapitated by a helicopter. Roberta carries on, having recently directed BLOOD SISTERS (1987).
